ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Children are expected to be at school before 8.35am, when the first bell is rung. No child should be at school before 8.00am unless permission has been requested in writing from the Principal.  Students are supervised from 8.15am to 8.35am in the covered area. Children arriving before 8.15 am will remain in the court yard until that time.

Children who arrive after 8.40am or leave school during the day are to be signed in or out through the office.  If you wish to drop items off to your child this is also to be done through the administration.

After school, children are supervised at two points, Henry Street and Ward Street.  Supervision is provided for children in these areas until 3.20pm.  After this time children will wait at the school office for collection by parents.

PARKING

Parking is available in the four streets surrounding the school.  Please note there is a ‘flow through’ zone in Henry Street to expedite pick up after school.  Please also avoid parking in the bus stop in Ward Street.  Parents are welcome to park in the Upper Dawson Road Cemetery Car Park, but not on the footpath.  Students must be accompanied by a responsible adult when crossing Upper Dawson Road, this is a very busy arterial road.

HENRY STREET FLOW-THROUGH ZONE

The entire school side of Henry Street is a two minute Loading Zone from 7:30-9:00am and 2:30-3:30pm.  This Loading Zone is for quick ‘drop down’ and ‘pick-up’.  In the afternoon teachers are on duty.  The following rules apply to the flow through zone:

  •  Access “flow through” from the Penlington Street end of Henry Street

  • Do not block or impede traffic in Ward Street

  • Move slowly in turn until the pick up zone (marked by safety cones)

  • Pull up at the pick up bay (remind your children to stand back from the road and to not approach the car until it has come to a complete standstill)

  • Encourage children to get in quickly and buckle up

  • Move out in turn and watch for children/pedestrians crossing at the corner.

  • It is dangerous to cross children in the Henry Street flow through Zone. Suitable crossing areas are at either end of Henry Street.

  •

Children (pedestrians and cyclists) are supervised as they cross at each end of Henry Street and at Ward and Spencer Streets.
